The Tasmanian Greens Leader Nick McKim MP today welcomed the formation of a dedicated taskforce to co-ordinate the state’s bushfire recovery effort.

“This taskforce brings together a strong team of community leaders with the specific expertise needed to get fire affected communities back on their feet,” Mr McKim said.

“These fires have brought terrible destruction to communities, so it is vitally important to have in place a focused and well co-ordinated recovery plan.”

“Rebuilding will take time and the Greens are pleased to see the State is pulling together the necessary resources needed to tackle huge task ahead.”

“We will continue to work co-operatively as part of Tasmania’s power-sharing government to ensure that communities receive all the help they need to rebuild.”
